What You’ll Be Doing

As an IAM Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering and supporting identity and access services within Orro’s Microsoft Managed Services team. Embedded within an IAM Pod, you will implement, operate and enhance identity solutions across multiple customer tenants, supporting both cloud native and hybrid environments.

This is a client facing role with a strong operational focus. You will contribute to identity modernisation initiatives, support secure access operations, and provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 identity support while participating in an on-call roster. You will also play an active role in maintaining operational standards and supporting Associate Engineers within the pod.

The role suits someone who enjoys ownership, working across multiple customer environments, and balancing project delivery with managed identity operations.

Client Delivery and Identity Implementation

• Deliver identity and access solutions across Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory and Microsoft 365

• Implement secure, scalable access strategies aligned to customer requirements

• Support identity transitions, hybrid integrations and cloud first modernisation initiatives

Identity Operations and Service Delivery

• Build and maintain access provisioning workflows, RBAC models and group policies across multiple tenants

• Manage user lifecycle operations including onboarding, offboarding, licensing and access reviews

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for identity related issues, escalating complex cases through the Pod where required

Security and Governance

• Implement Conditional Access, MFA, Identity Protection and privileged access controls

• Support compliance activities aligned to frameworks such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2

• Assist with identifying and remediating identity related security risks and vulnerabilities

Automation and Continuous Improvement

• Develop automation and configuration solutions using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API

• Apply standardised identity and access processes across customers to improve efficiency

• Identify opportunities to improve access governance and adoption of Microsoft identity technologies

Team Contribution and Knowledge Sharing

• Support and mentor Associate Engineers within the IAM Pod

• Contribute to internal documentation, standards and best practices

• Work closely with the Pod Lead and wider team to uplift identity service capability

What You’ll Bring

The Essentials

• 5+ yrs experience in identity and access engineering or support roles

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience

• Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access and Microsoft 365 identity services

• Solid understanding of hybrid identity and Active Directory in enterprise environments

• Experience delivering RBAC, MFA and identity lifecycle management solutions

• Practical automation skills using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API

• Ability to troubleshoot authentication, access and provisioning issues

• Experience working in MSP or enterprise IT environments supporting multiple tenants

• Confidence supporting and mentoring junior engineers through delivery

Bonus Points

• Microsoft certifications such as SC 300 Identity and Access Administrator or MS 500 Security Administrator are highly regarded
