What You’ll Be Doing

As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering and supporting cloud services within Orro’s Microsoft Managed Services team. Embedded within a Cloud Services Pod, you will be responsible for implementing, operating and improving Azure based environments across multiple customer accounts.

This is a client facing role with a strong operational focus. You will contribute to cloud migrations, platform builds and infrastructure modernisation initiatives, provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, and participate in an on-call roster. Alongside delivery, you will support service improvement initiatives, uphold operational standards, and provide guidance to Associate Engineers within the pod.

The role suits someone who enjoys variety, ownership and working across multiple customer environments while balancing project delivery with managed services operations.

Client Delivery and Engagement

• Act as a trusted technical contributor across Azure, DevOps and cloud infrastructure engagements

• Deliver cloud implementations and improvements that meet agreed customer and operational outcomes

• Contribute to cloud migrations, platform builds and infrastructure modernisation initiatives

Cloud Operations and Service Delivery

• Build, operate and maintain Azure environments spanning IaaS, PaaS, networking and security

• Support CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code and automation driven deployments

• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 operational support, escalating complex issues through the Pod where required

Security and Governance

• Implement cloud native security controls and governance aligned to customer requirements

• Support compliance activities, audit readiness and security uplift initiatives

• Assist with identifying and remediating cloud vulnerabilities in line with best practice

Automation and Continuous Improvement

• Develop and maintain automation and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, PowerShell, Python and ARM templates

• Apply repeatable, standardised approaches across customer environments to improve scalability and efficiency

• Identify opportunities for optimisation across cost, performance and platform capability

Team Contribution and Knowledge Sharing

• Support and mentor Associate Engineers within the Cloud Services Pod

• Contribute to internal documentation, knowledge sharing and process improvement

• Work closely with the Pod Lead and wider team to continuously uplift service delivery capability

What You’ll Bring

Essential Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in cloud engineering, DevOps or infrastructure focused roles

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience

• Strong hands-on experience delivering and supporting Microsoft Azure environments

• Solid background in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code

• Practical automation skills using tools such as Terraform, PowerShell and Python

• Working knowledge of operational best practices including monitoring, incident management and reliability

• Experience working in MSP or consulting environments across multiple customer platforms

• Ability to design practical, scalable cloud solutions and support junior engineers through delivery

Bonus Points

• Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ 104 Azure Administrator or higher are highly regarded
