This one puts you on the leadership team of Remote, a specialist government services business within the Orro Group, where your advice shapes pricing, workforce planning and where the business goes next. As our Finance & Commercial Manager, reporting to the General Manager, you'll own the financial performance and commercial health of the business and be the key link between Remote and Orro's Group finance team. This role is being sourced by Orro through Remote (remote.com.au), an Australian-owned, Canberra-based specialist consulting and workforce solutions firm with over 25 years of experience placing professionals across the National Intelligence Community, Defence, and national security.

What You'll Be Doing

Remote is a specialist professional services and workforce solutions business supporting Australia's Federal Government, Defence and National Intelligence Community. As its senior finance leader, you'll work alongside the General Manager and leadership team as a trusted adviser on performance, pricing and growth.

The role goes well beyond financial control, taking in business planning, commercial governance and the insight leaders rely on to make confident decisions. It also carries the job of bringing Remote's financial practices into step with Orro's Group finance function, combining the agility of a specialist business with the backing of a national group.

• Advise the General Manager and leadership team on profitability, investment and growth, backed by analysis, modelling and scenario planning

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, with a close eye on cash flow and working capital

• Build and run the commercial governance framework, reviewing pricing models and margins across contracts and services

• Support commercial negotiations and supplier arrangements, keeping decisions aligned to business objectives and risk appetite

• Own workforce economics, from utilisation and profitability analysis to workforce forecasting and payroll governance

• Maintain financial controls, statutory and tax compliance, and audit readiness in line with Group governance requirements

• Build a strong finance and business support function and strengthen alignment between Remote and Orro

What You'll Bring

The Essentials

• CA or CPA qualified

• 8+ years across financial control, financial planning and analysis, commercial finance or business partnering

• Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or New Zealand Citizen (SCV 444)

• Experience in professional services, consulting, labour hire, recruitment or managed services, particularly where utilisation, margins and resource planning drive performance

• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling capability, backed by advanced Excel

• Experience managing financial governance, compliance and risk

• A track record of guiding executive decisions through financial insight, with the stakeholder and communication skills to make your advice land

Bonus Points

• Exposure to government contracting, panel arrangements or regulated industries

• Experience working within a group structure or a private equity backed organisation
