Resource Manager
We are not your typical delivery team. We are commercially focused, fast moving and trusted by some of Australia's biggest brands, and we are looking for a Resource Manager to step into a role created by our growth. We are winning bigger, more complex work and we need one consistent view of how we deploy our people to deliver it. This is hands on, high impact, and yours to shape from day one.
About Orro
We’re an Australian success story, now close to 500 people strong, delivering secure, end-to-end digital solutions across cloud, collaboration, cyber security, data services and network infrastructure, all backed by over 20 years of experience. Trusted by some of Australia’s biggest brands, Orro leads the way in designing, building and operating digital infrastructure that delivers greater efficiency, agility, performance and resilience. Our solutions take the stress out of tech for more than 400 businesses and over 20 million Australians every single day.
Our mission? To create “future now” solutions making it faster, simpler and safer for people to access, store and share information, wherever they are and whoever they’re with. But more than that, we know that real impact comes from connecting people, not just machines. That’s why we take the time to understand our clients; how they work, what matters to them, and where they’re headed so we can deliver not just what they need today, but what they’ll need next.
With offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Perth, and teams across New Zealand, the Philippines and the UK, Orro is known for delivering future-ready solutions, backed by deep expertise, genuine human insight and lasting partnerships.
What You’ll Be Doing
Resourcing at Orro happens in pockets today and it works, but the scale of our project portfolio has outgrown that approach. You will consolidate what is working into a single framework and run it day to day across the business, including our cross practice resourcing model where customer hours flow across networks, cloud, cyber and collaboration.
Our internal platform team is already building the tool that will support this longer term, so you will partner with them closely as the first operational user, shaping how it works in practice while keeping resourcing moving manually in the interim.
Consolidate what works across teams today into a single, consistent resourcing framework and embed it as standard practice across project teams and practices
Run resourcing operationally from day one using spreadsheets or lightweight tooling while the internal platform is built, so delivery never waits on the tech
Partner closely with the internal platform team as the first operational user of the new resourcing tool, shaping requirements, testing iterations and driving adoption once live
Operate a shared services resourcing model centrally, matching customer hours to the right skills across networks, cloud, cyber and collaboration so work is allocated quickly and accurately
Track allocation and capacity across the business, identify underutilised people and recommend internal redeployment before external hiring
Engage directly with our vendor and partner network, providing fast, accurate responses on availability and fit so opportunities can be quoted and converted quickly
Partner closely with Talent Acquisition so genuine capacity gaps translate quickly into the right hiring or contractor decisions
What You'll Bring
The Essentials
Direct experience in resourcing, capacity planning or resource scheduling as a core function within a delivery driven business
Exposure to resource planning, workforce planning or PSA tools such as Kantata, Float, Runn, Smartsheet, Mosaic or Microsoft Project for the Web (or similar)
Resilient, pragmatic and commercially minded with the ability to push through ambiguity to get things moving forwards
Comfortable engaging directly with external stakeholders such as partners or vendors, with the credibility and responsiveness to support time sensitive opportunities
Bonus Points
Experience operating a shared services or cross practice resourcing model across multiple technical disciplines
Practical experience using AI tools and automation to streamline manual processes or surface insight from data
Even if you don't tick every box, don't let that hold you back. If this sounds like your kind of challenge, we'd genuinely love to hear from you.
