Senior Engineer - Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Makati | Hybrid Work Model | Competitive base + benefits
We are not your typical cyber security team. We are technically sharp, delivery focused and customer obsessed, and we are looking for a Senior IAM Engineer who builds and owns identity infrastructure, not just supports it. You will be embedded as a dedicated engineer within a major enterprise client environment, with full ownership of the identity and access management platforms that govern how every person in that organisation authenticates, provisions, and operates. This is a design and engineering role where the decisions you make have direct, visible impact for a significant customer.
About Orro
We’re an Australian success story, now close to 500 people strong, delivering secure, end-to-end digital solutions across cloud, collaboration, cyber security, data services and network infrastructure, all backed by over 20 years of experience. Trusted by some of Australia’s biggest brands, Orro leads the way in designing, building and operating digital infrastructure that delivers greater efficiency, agility, performance and resilience. Our solutions take the stress out of tech for more than 400 businesses and over 20 million Australians every single day.
Our mission? To create “future now” solutions making it faster, simpler and safer for people to access, store and share information, wherever they are and whoever they’re with. But more than that, we know that real impact comes from connecting people, not just machines. That’s why we take the time to understand our clients; how they work, what matters to them, and where they’re headed so we can deliver not just what they need today, but what they’ll need next.
With offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Perth, and teams across New Zealand, the Philippines and the UK, Orro is known for delivering future-ready solutions, backed by deep expertise, genuine human insight and lasting partnerships.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role you will carry engineering accountability for the identity and access management environment of a major enterprise client, delivered through Orro's Cyber Managed Services practice. You will own the architecture, implementation, and ongoing integrity of multiple Identity Provider instances and the user access review platform, working across a complex, integrated technology landscape. You will partner with developers and engineers on the client side to extend and improve the platform, and you will build the governance structures that keep the environment compliant and operationally sound. The decisions you make will shape how a significant organisation manages trust and access at scale.
Architect, implement, and maintain a stable, production grade IdP environment for the client, including upgrades, integration testing, and change management
Engineer and own the full identity lifecycle: provisioning, authentication, authorisation, deprovisioning, SSO, MFA, and birthright access
Design and execute regular user access reviews and privileged access reviews, building repeatable processes that scale with the client environment
Lead the integration and onboarding of new systems onto the IdP platform, working directly with client side developers to deliver secure, well governed connections
Diagnose and resolve complex issues across the IdP, UAR platform, and connected technologies, and build the runbooks that prevent recurrence
Author and maintain the policies, procedures, and technical documentation that underpin the IAM operating environment
Design and implement contingency and resilience plans for both platforms, aligned to their business criticality within the client environment
What You'll Bring
The Essentials
At least 5 years of experience in cyber security, with a minimum of 3 years specifically focused on IAM engineering, including hands on design and implementation of identity platforms at enterprise scale
Deep technical knowledge of IdP platforms and IAM tooling, specifically Okta, Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and Saviynt
Strong grounding in information security frameworks and standards including ISO 27001/27002, NIST CSF, and CIS benchmarks
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, SQL, or PHP, applied to automation, integration, and troubleshooting across complex environments
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex identity and security concepts clearly for both technical and non technical audiences
Bonus Points
Industry certifications such as CISSP or CISM
Experience designing resilience and contingency frameworks for identity platforms
Background working across multi environment or enterprise scale IAM deployments
Even if you don't tick every box, don't let that hold you back. If this sounds like your kind of challenge, we'd genuinely love to hear from you.
