Cyber Security Engineer - Consulting
We’re not your typical cyber team. We’re collaborative, curious, and customer-obsessed and we’re looking for a Cyber Security Engineer - Consulting to join our Cyber Engineering team. You’ll work directly with customers, owning and delivering security engagements end to end, and providing expert guidance across Microsoft security controls. From scoping and kick-off through to implementation, assessment, and reporting, you’ll help strengthen customer security postures while managing your own projects and building trusted advisory relationships across a diverse client base.

What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will take responsibility for delivering consulting led cyber security services across a range of customer environments. Working closely with the Cyber Security Engineering Manager and wider cyber team, you will plan and execute security engagements, manage delivery milestones, and provide hands on implementation and advisory support across Microsoft security platforms. You will balance technical depth with strong customer engagement, ensuring each engagement is delivered efficiently, professionally, and to a high standard.
Lead customer engagements as the trusted technical point of contact, delivering high quality service and advice
Partner with customers to shape requirements, support scoping, and contribute to project kick offs
Own delivery of assigned engagements, managing milestones, risks, and escalations with confidence
Design, implement, and optimise Microsoft security controls across PIM, Conditional Access, Intune, Defender, Entra, and Microsoft 365
Provide pragmatic, best practice guidance to strengthen Microsoft security environments
Produce clear, concise technical documentation and customer ready reports
Deliver security controls and third-party assessments using established frameworks and templates
Review cybersecurity processes, procedures, and risk management practices to identify gaps and improvements

What You’ll Bring
Essentials:
To succeed in this role, it is expected that you have at least 2 years of experience and bring a solid foundation in cyber security operations. Specifically, you’ll need:
Proven experience in a customer facing or consulting style cyber security role
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements in parallel
Hands on experience with Microsoft security technologies, including Privileged Identity Management, Conditional Access, Azure Active Directory and Entra, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft 365 Compliance, Microsoft Cloud App Security or Microsoft Information Protection
Bonus Points
Relevant Microsoft security certifications
Scripting experience using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Unix based tools
Experience supporting security environments across both Windows and Linux platforms
Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as Essential 8, CIS 18, NIST, or ISO 27001
Experience deploying or optimising SIEM and SOAR platforms including Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, SentinelOne AI SIEM, or hyperautomation tooling
Experience with vulnerability management platforms such as Rapid7
